Imagination Theater Company Dress Code

All participants must:

  1. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes at all times – no open sandals, flip-flops or bare feet. The director or stage manager may require the volunteer to change their footwear. Costume shoes are the exception and require extra precautions.
  2. Clothing worn to the theater should be practical for the type and level of activity. Participants are encouraged to consider temperature, ease of movement, and potential damage to the clothing.
  3. All participants are encouraged to not bring or wear valuable jewelry, watches, clothing, devices, or other belongings. The theater cannot be responsible for loss or theft.
  4. Words and images on clothing or belongings of participants must not violate our Mission Statement or DEI Statement. A director or stage manager will require the volunteer to change or remove the item.
  5. If there is a safety issue with clothing, jewelry, or hairstyle, the director or stage manager may require the participant to change/remove the item.
  6. Crew, booth, and green room volunteers are required to wear their personal, provided black crew shirts in order to signal they belong backstage and in restricted areas.
  7. Front of house volunteers should all wear the theater vests over their regular clothes.
  8. Cast members must use assigned costumes, shoes, and rehearsal skirts when they are available and instructed to do so by the director.
  9. Cast members having issues with their own costume requirements must present their concerns no later than 2 weeks prior to opening night.

Grievances should follow the procedure found in the Code of Conduct/Policies and Procedure Manual. (Talk to your director, stage manager, or house manager first.)
