The Quest for Don Quixote: A fast-paced comedy about writer’s block and procrastination
Written by Mark Brown
The story finds playwright Ben Eisenberg sitting in a coffee shop trying to write an adaptation of the original 1,000 page adventure of Don Quixote. He is stuck with writer’s block, and worse, the play begins rehearsals the next day! His agent is fit to be tied when he finds Ben there, and begins to maniacally push him to complete the script. Like a locomotive gaining momentum, the coffee house and the people in it become part of the process of active retelling, and the lunacy that occurs is not just the classic figments from the mind of Alonso Quijano, better known as Don Quixote.
